going to the prom

"oh the fear I've known
that I might reap the praise of strangers
and end up on my own"

I'm back. And here's the update:

I've decided that my employer doesn't pay me nearly what I'm worth. No; I already knew that. I decided that enough is enough and I'm going to ask for a raise as soon as I amass my courage. I'm also going to look for a different job, one that utilizes my skills and pays me a non-laughable salary.

Also, my church is hosting a formal dance. Yes indeed. The idea is at once both intriguing and revolting. Intriguing because I love the chance to dress up; revolting because I hate the idea of a cheesy dance being the medium for the dress-up. So much cheese involved! I mean, this isn't high school, so why should we all squeeze into prom dresses and coursages and pretend that we are?

That was my opinion, end of story. My opinion was rejected by my roommates, however, and they convinced me to go. The main reason is because of this guy I like. (Oh yeah, Perfectboy. I told you about him in a previous entry.) It's a girls choice dance, and the thought of Perfectboy being asked by this other girl who I know has a crush on him...well, let's just say that I couldn't stand the thought. So I asked him myself. And he said yes. And now I'm off to the Prom in two weeks!

Oh yes, and how could I forget? My birthday is coming up and I thought you all should know about it. It's on the 25th of this month, so take note! If you so desire, gifts are always appropriate. Some day soon I'll make a list of the stuff I want, and post that list here. If you don't desire, send me an e-card instead on the appropriate day. Your effort will not go unrewarded. Just kidding. You'll just feel good in your heart for brightening my day.

And I guess that's it for the lifeblood update. Tune in next time for another exciting episode of my life story.
