things get hectic at work

"I need my conscience to keep watch over me
To protect me from myself
So I can wear honesty like a crown on my head
When I walk into the promised land"

I've realized something sad. Things at work are picking up, and will get extremely busy until about April, which is good. I'll have so much less time to think.

But I'll also have no time to write diaryland entries, which is a tragedy. So who knows how often I'll hear from myself on diaryland. But probably less frequently, in any case.

There's a guy at my work named Yung. I knew he was Chinese, but I figured he was also American. Yesterday I heard him speaking a foreign language rather fluently, so today I asked him which languages he speaks. He's actually from Taiwan; the answer is three, and one of them is Mandarin! I'm so excited to practice my fading Chinese with him.

I also want to take a Chinese caligraphy class this semester. (I work at a university, so tuition is free--yay!) Doesn't that sound fun? One day a week, just painting away making cool Chinese characters.

Well anyway, I don't have much to say today. The stupid thing is, I write diaryland entries in my head all the time, but unless I get it on paper or computer right away, it's lost forever. My memory is pretty much shot.

This weekend I'm meeting up with edensgarden, mr. levski, and yellowducky. You'd think it was a diaryland reunion, but it's not. Diaryland is only our secondary connection. I'll let you wonder about the real reason we know each other.

Have a good weekend.
