u2, unGerman, and spies

Good morning friends, romans, countrymen. I've gotten some good feedback on what I should do as a profession in place of the discarded teacher idea. Dana and Ducky both gave me some good ideas to think about. My favorite response so far has been from Mr. Levski. His wisdom sometimes astonishes me.

He basically said to follow my heart and do what I've always wanted to do. Yeah, I know that's not so original, but something about it struck a chord. He mentioned that I didn't have a family to support yet, so I could stay at my current job and just do all the things I've dreamed of doing.

Thanks Mr. Levsky for reminding me of such a good idea. I've always dreamed of being a writer, so that's what I'm going to do on the side (instead of going to more school). I'm also going to travel the world. :) Why not, that's what I say.

I am also beyond excited because the U2 concert is this Friday, and I am going to be there!!! Me and about 20,000 of my closest friends will be serenaded by Bono, and I'm going to be more in love than I already am. Mmmmm.

And as for the love department, I'll give you my update. Let's see, I'm in love with my Sunday School teacher. He's an artist, bald, and younger than me. The odds are against it working out. Ah well. I'm also intrigued by this guy with squinty eyes, bad teeth and funky glasses. He looks so German. That's what I thought he was, but the words coming out of his mouth had no discernible accent. So my vote is that he's Canadian. I'll just have to make him say "Sorry about tomorrow" to make sure. We call him 'unGerman'. We don't know his name. I have never spoken to him. But someday, I will ask him his nationality. For the moment though, I just whisper romantic thoughts about him to my friends. "I bet he's a spy for the former Soviet Union." "Maybe he spent his childhood in Germany, gained his fashion sense and bad teeth there, and then moved to the U.S. to work on his flawless accent."

And that's about it. I'll be going crazy tonight trying to pack everything for my trip. I fly outa here on Thursday evening (I know flying's a pretty safe thing to do, but I'm still mildly nervous about it), and return on Monday. (Happy Veteran's day everyone.)

See ya later. Thanks for the great profession suggestions, and if you have any, keep them coming!
