whitey white

My skin does happen to be more white than most people I know (my sister once told me I could be Snow White), but that's no excuse for lumping me into a category of people who are alike in very few ways. And let's face it, when someone talks about 'Whites', they are referring to people who enslaved, abused, drove out, and otherwise misused other races of people. This is not me.
Humanity as a whole has much blood on its collective hands, I know. A philosophy teacher of mine once opened my eyes to the fact that just by eating food from the grocery store we are involved indirectly in the sweat shops, child labor, etc. But 'Whites' are not the only ones participating in the bloody mess. And I personally did not enslave, abuse, or drive out any person at all (at least I hope not).
Therefore, I reject 'White' as a racial slur. I don't know what I prefer. Well, 'person' would do just fine.
And now that I'm done saying that, I want to say this: How come now that I do more exercise and eat less ice cream, I'm suddenly getting fatter? Mysterious.
